Privacy Policy
Ask Han ("we", "us") is a personal question-and-answer service operated from Wuhan, Hubei, People's Republic of China. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use askhan.top, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.
We keep this short and specific on purpose. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it in plain language.
1. What we collect
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Name and email | To create your account, contact you about your question, and send payment links or refunds. |
| Photograph | To confirm there is a real person behind the account. This matters to the people bidding alongside you, and it matters to us. |
| WhatsApp number | An optional faster channel if we need to clarify your question before answering it. |
| Your question and bid amount | This is the service itself. We also record the time you submitted it and whether it was accepted. |
| Payment records | Amount, date and transaction reference. We never see or store your card number — payment is handled entirely by our payment processors. |
| Basic technical data | Browser type and pages visited, used only to keep the site working and to understand roughly where our visitors come from. |
2. How we use it
- To run your account and let you sign in.
- To review bids, decide which questions to answer, and send you a payment link if yours is accepted.
- To answer your question and deliver it in your language.
- To publish answered questions in the public archive (see section 4).
- To handle refunds, and to reply when you contact us.
- To keep the service safe — for example, detecting fake accounts or abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
3. Who else sees it
We share the minimum necessary with companies that help us operate:
- Payment processors (such as PayPal and our card acquirer) — to take payment and issue refunds. Their own privacy policies apply to that processing.
- Hosting and content delivery providers — to serve the website to you.
- Email providers — to send you account and payment messages.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so, or if it is necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
4. The public archive — please read this one
By default, an answered question may appear in the public archive on this site or in our social media content.
When we publish, we remove your email address, WhatsApp number and exact location. We publish your question and the answer, not your contact details.
If you want your question kept entirely private, say so when you submit it, or email us at any time before we publish. We will honour it. If we have already published it, we will remove it on request.
We never publish your photograph without your separate, explicit permission.
5. How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account details | Until you delete your account, then 30 days. |
| Question, answer and bid records | 24 months, so we can handle disputes and refunds. |
| Payment records | As long as tax and accounting rules require. |
| Photograph | Until your account is deleted. |
6. Your rights
Wherever you live, we give you the same set of rights. Email us and we will act on your request within 30 days:
- Access — ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Correction — fix anything that is wrong.
- Deletion — have your account and personal data erased, except records we must keep for tax or legal reasons.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable file.
- Objection — ask us to stop a particular use, including having your question removed from the public archive.
If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in California, we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and our map data comes from third-party providers, which may see your IP address in order to serve those assets.
8. Where your data is stored
We are based in China, and our service providers operate servers in several countries. This means your information may be transferred to and processed outside your own country, including outside the EU and the UK. Where that happens, we rely on our providers' standard contractual safeguards.
9. Security
We use HTTPS across the whole site, keep the amount of data we collect to a minimum, and restrict access to it. No system is perfectly secure, but we will tell you promptly if a breach ever affects your information.
10. Age
This service is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or place a bid. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we will delete such data if we learn we have it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email.
12. Contact
